CHAPTER NEWS

Our chapters are working very hard to raise money for our new projects.  Here are some of the things going on in their individual areas.

September 2007

Sacramento:

Delois Metcalf's group is 103 members strong and they are a very dedicated group of women.  We are constantly amazed at all these ladies do for this ministry.  They have gone through some rough times, but have recently voted to keep going and do what they can for the students of Point Loma.  We salute you, Delois.  Amazing.  Keep up the great work out there in Sacramento!

Orange:

This chapter is undergoing some changes in leadership but Shirley Schulz is manning it temporarily and is finding new people to help her.  They are about 31 members and hope to gain more this fall.

Whittier:

This group is about 36 members strong and is run by a very capable Jeanne Kall.  They will be working hard again at Homecoming and will have a garage sale in January.

San Diego:

Susan Brownlee leads this group of 75 members and is a doing a super job as president.  She reports that her chapter is as busy as ever.  They began this new year with New Student Orientation-passing out information and cookies to everyone and will be very busy with their booth at Homecoming.  They are hoping for another great year!

Long Beach:

This chapter is being led by a new representative, Joan Miller and we are excited to welcome her to our team.  They already have 24 members and will try to get this group of ladies busy and active again.  Welcome to the Auxiliary, Joan!

High Desert:

This hardworking group is led by Marge Gaslow and her team of very capable ladies.  They have 14 members and are going for more! We are always so impressed by them-how far they drive to all the events and their commitment to this Auxiliary and the University.  They have some great ideas for sparking new interests in their area and we are excited to see what will happen in the days ahead.  Thank you for everything you do and everything you contribute to our ministry.  You inspire us to give more of ourselves.

Baldy View:

This group is led by Arlane Hart and is now 51 members strong!  Their big highlight of the year was a fundraising event called, A night to Remember.  And, it certainly was!  250 people attended and found themselves laughing until they cried-watching many pastors and upstanding church members lip sync to golden oldies.  What fun!  $3,000 was raised and they gained many new members!  We can't wait to see what Arlane has planned next!  You go girl!

Thank you, Chapters, for a job well done.  You ARE this ministry and I am so proud of all of you.
